HR Business Partner (HR Consultant)
MRA is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our HR Services team. This full-time, hybrid role works directly with our member companies—on-site at their Minneapolis-area locations—providing hands-on HR expertise that drives real business results.
As an HR consultant, you’ll partner with organizations across multiple industries, serving as a trusted advisor on both strategic and day-to-day HR challenges. Think Jill or Jack of all HR Trades: one day you’re tackling employee relations and open enrollment, the next you’re advising leaders, improving processes, or jumping in solve compliance quandaries. Responsibilities:
Initiate and complete ongoing assignments for members (clients) using sound HR practice principles and in the most cost-effective manner.
You will provide HR support to member organizations ranging from 10 employees to 10,000. Example responsibilities include:Payroll & benefits administration
Policy interpretation & implementation
Coaching leaders on a variety of employee-related issues.
Employee life-cycle management
HR Compliance
Day-to-Day HR Support
Employee Relations
In addition to a focus on HR Assignments, you may also support members with the following project types:Employee handbooks development
HR & Payroll Audits
3rd Party Investigations
HR Systems Implementation and Integration
Other strategic projects
Maintain accurate billable service records and complete semi-monthly time reporting as required.
Public speaking engagements: representing MRA including occasional opportunities to share your HR knowledge through public speaking engagements at conferences and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
Minimum of 10-12 years of HR experience.
PHR and/or SHRM-CP Certification a plus
Proficient in MS Office software.
Strong knowledge of multiple HRIS platforms. ADP WFN, UKG Pro, Paylocity, Paycom, and/or Paycor preferred.
Prior hands-on experience processing payroll
The ability to travel to member companies on-site in the Golden Valley area.
