The Role
As a Clinic Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management of the Humane Society of Charlotte’s Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic of preparation, induction, intubation and recovery of up to 45 animals admitted for surgery each day and around 30 wellness patients each day. This role oversees day-to-day clinic operations, workflows, systems, inventory, compliance, and resource management, and directly supervises Clinic Services support staff, including Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, Client Services Staff, and assigned volunteers. This position will model Humane Society of Charlotte’s mission and values, including collaborative interdepartmental partnerships, an adopters-welcome philosophy, and a community-centered, nonjudgmental approach that supports access to care and recognizes that pet ownership looks different for every family. Who are we looking for?
- Preferred: Minimum 2 years of veterinary practice or high-volume clinic operations management experience.
- Preferred: Minimum 2 years of supervisory or staff management experience.
- Required: Experience with medical records systems, scheduling software, and data reporting; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary practice operations, staff supervision, budgeting, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation.
- Must be comfortable interacting with all dogs and cats.
The Benefits & Perks
This position will pay a range between $60,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience. HSC is unique in that unlike most veterinary offices, this role has a Monday - Friday schedule and our clinic is also closed on most major holidays. As our clinic provides wellness and spay/neuter surgeries only, you also won't be responding to surprise emergency visits. However, this position may require some weekend and evening responsibilities to attend events.

HSC has been around for over 47 years, and in 1982 we became the first low cost spay/neuter clinic to open in the southeast US! In 2022, HSC moved into our brand-new Animal Resource Center.
