POSITION TITLE: Instructional Design Specialist
REPORTS TO: Manager, Education Development
DEPARTMENT: Workforce Development

POSITION SUMMARY:
Collaborates with the Manager, Education Development to execute on the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for ASSP members and OSH professionals. Assist in the creation and review of training materials and learning experiences under the guidance of senior designers, including developing course outlines, storyboards, interactive activities, and assessments. Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and alignment with learning objectives. Proficiency in basic instructional design principles and authoring tools, with a focus on learning and applying best practices in the field. Manage support for on-site training and process continuing education units (CEUs) for various educational events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work with manager, education development and senior instructional designer in gathering and organizing course content from subject matter experts, create content outlines for training modules, develop interactive learning activities and assessments.
- Contribute to quality assurance by reviewing and providing feedback on learning materials.
- Assist in the evaluation of training effectiveness through learner feedback and data analysis. Identify areas for improvement in existing training materials and work with subject matter experts to make revisions.
- Assist senior instructional designer with the construction of courses and course modules in the LMS.
- Provide support for on-site training: serve as liaison between the sales manager, customer, and the instructor to ensure successful training for our corporate clients.
- Review content generated by ASSP communities and approve and process continuing education units (CEUs) for various educational events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of innovative and creative course delivery methods.
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and Association Management Systems (AMS).
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments. Ability to perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willing to partner with subject matter experts, facilitators and internal staff to produce instructionally sound blended learning solutions.
- Demonstrate initiative, willing to take on responsibility and Interest in learning new technologies and authoring tools.
- Ability to effectively develop and deliver virtual classes and webinars.
- Implementing visual design elements to enhance learning engagement.
- Basic understanding of instructional design principles and methodologies (ADDIE model)
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Full-time position with the ability to work M-F during normal business hours. May be expected to occasionally work outside of normal business hours.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, or related field.
- Four years of instructional design experience of blended learning solutions.
- Working with highly technical information is considered a plus.
