The Amherst Survival Center is seeking a visionary and compassionate Executive Director to lead the organization in its mission to provide food, healthcare, and community to neighbors in need. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic and collaborative leader to build on the Center’s strong foundation and guide its continued growth and impact in the community. With a current annual budget of $2.1 million (plus over $2.5 million in in-kind support, primarily donated food), the Executive Director provides vision, leadership and oversight of the administrative, financial, and programmatic operations of the center. Oversees the development and implementation of fundraising plans and serves as chief spokesperson for the organization. The Executive Director reports to and works closely with the Board of Directors, takes appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and creates a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for employees, volunteers, participants and visitors.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of senior nonprofit leadership experience (10+ preferred), with a track record of success in fundraising, strategic planning, program development, and staff management. They are deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that centers the dignity and humanity of every person served.
