Major Roles and Responsibilities
Strength & Conditioning Coach:
Facilitates Strength & Conditioning (S & C) for USA Goalball Program (Men’s & Women’s) & Resident athletes.
- Program & Athlete Development: Develop and implement sport-specific training programs to enhance strength, speed, flexibility, conditioning, and agility.
- Creates and implements a periodization training model reflecting performance and development
requirements of the USA Goalball National Teams. - Creates a structured S & C environment for resident athletes to train at the OPTC.
- Creates a structured S & C plan for female and male athletes who train at home.
- Assists in the design and implementation of the player development plan inclusive of individualized training plans for players covering technical and physical assessments.
- Provides a metric driven process to improve S & C training whether at OPTC or home
environment. - Educate athletes on proper exercise techniques and safe equipment use.
- Provide injury prevention education in conjunction with athletic trainers.
- Creates and implements a periodization training model reflecting performance and development
- Sports Science & Data Integration: Assist in sports science data collection and interpretation to inform training decisions.
- This role ensures optimal training through collaboration with athletic trainers, coaches, and partners,
while maintaining compliance with USOPC standards
USA Goalball Men’s Assistant Coach:
Serves as Assistant Coach for the USA Goalball Men’s National Team at designated training camps, domestic
and international tournaments.
- Collaborates with and assists the Head Coach:
- Providing a healthy, safe, and holistic team culture that cultivates a gold medal mindset.
- Working collaboratively with Performance Service Providers to include but not limited to the sport psychologist, athletic trainer, data and video analysts, etc.
- Works with the USA Goalball Coaching staff:
- Willing and able to learn the sport of goalball including:
Official IBSA Rules and Regulations.
Tournament calendar (both domestic and international)
USA Goalball’s 9 Number system
History of the sport (USA Paralympic appearances, medal count, international
competitors) - Providing timely expenses, safety requirements and updates on the program as requested.

2026 Program Schedule
2026 USA Goalball Resident Program - U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center Colorado Springs:
- Program begins 1/26/2026 and runs through 12/15/2026.
- S & C sessions are two-hour sessions that are 2 to 3 times a week (time slots TBD).

3/11 – 3/15/2026: Berlin Nations Cup (Berlin, Germany)
6/5 – 6/17/2026: 2026 IBSA World Championship (Hangzhou, China)
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certification or equivalent to.
Experience working with athletes in a strength & conditioning capacity.
Working knowledge of higher-level concepts of sports training, tactics and strategy.
Strong leadership skills and ability to solve problems and execute decisions under pressure.
Capable of working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission.
Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor.
Able and willing to travel (domestic and international) with a valid US Passport.
Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as
needed.

Desired Experience
Coaching experience in team sports at the domestic and/or international competition level.
Sports education, physical education, or adapted physical activity background.
