What You’ll Do:
You’ll practice and support a dynamic mix of:
Community Medicine:
- Equity-focused accessible care that meets families where they are
- Supporting pet retention and keeping animals with the people who love them
- Practice common-sense incremental care for a wide range of patients and conditions – from wellness/preventative clinics to sick animal and chronic care to palliative end-of-life care.
Surgery:
- High-volume, High-quality spay/neuter
- Elective surgery and safety-net emergency surgery
- Sedated procedures and dentistry
Shelter Medicine:
- Population health & flow-through decision-making
- Rotating support for daily medicine rounds and treatments, collaborating across departments and with partner shelters
You’ll work alongside a deeply skilled team of DVMs, RVTs, and animal care professionals who practice at the top of their license and training. Help launch expansion of our public services toward a 7-day-a-week procedures and medical clinic, integrating clinical excellence with access, compassion, and smart resource use.

Qualifications
DVM/VMD + California veterinary license
Proficient surgical skills with HVHQSN training
1+ Years of experience in shelter and/or community medicine
Strong communicator who understands systems
Curiosity, adaptability, and shared-leadership mindset
Spanish language skills are well utilized (not required)
Compensation & Work-Life
$130,000–$150,000 DOE
4×10 schedule
Medical, dental, vision
Vacation + Sick Leave + 11 holidays
CE stipend + CE days
License reimbursement
