We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician who thrives in a surgery-focused environment and wants to use their skills where they make the greatest difference.

Schedule

Primarily 8-hour daytime shifts Monday–Friday with occasional weekends and evenings as needed to support shelter operations

No overnight shifts. No on-call rotations.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is primarily surgical support in a high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter setting, with minimal shelter medicine responsibilities.

You will:

• Induce and monitor anesthesia with precision and confidence
• Assist in HQHVSN surgical procedures (experience strongly preferred)
• Prepare and maintain surgical suites and instruments
• Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
• Perform dental procedures and routine treatments as directed
• Ensure compassionate handling and Fear Free principles
• Support a collaborative, mission-driven surgical team

You’ll work closely with experienced veterinarians and support staff in a structured, efficient surgery environment.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Veterinary Technician licensed in California, in good standing
• Experience in high-volume surgery or shelter medicine preferred
• HQHVSN experience strongly desired
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical prep skills
• Calm under pressure, efficient, and detail-oriented
• Emotionally resilient and compassionate
• Mission-aligned and collaborative
