Job Title: Prevention Coordinator
Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000
Reports to: CEO
Location: Hybrid (Kentucky residency required; primary office in Frankfort)
The Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs, Inc. (KASAP) is the statewide coalition of the 13 rape crisis centers in the Commonwealth. The mission of KASAP is to speak with a unified voice against sexual victimization. As a coalition, KASAP provides technical assistance to member programs and professionals; advocates for improvements in public policy; fosters coalition building among members, organizations, and individuals committed to ending sexual violence; promotes prevention and public awareness regarding sexual assault and related issues; and maintains resources for sexual assault program staff and the public. KASAP does not provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence.
Position Summary
The Prevention Coordinator leads Kentucky’s statewide sexual violence prevention efforts through collaborative planning, capacity building, and implementation support. This position is responsible for coordinating the development and execution of Kentucky’s five-year sexual violence prevention action plan; managing key prevention grants; and supporting prevention educators and stakeholders across the state. The Prevention Coordinator serves as Kentucky’s primary point of contact for sexual violence prevention.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Management and Strategic Planning
- Lead grant management for KASAP’s Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) Coalition grant, including application development, progress monitoring, and annual reporting.
- Support management of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services RPE grant.
- Collaborate with the State Capacity Building Team (SCBT) and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor Kentucky’s five-year statewide prevention action plan.
- Plan and facilitate monthly SCBT meetings to align statewide prevention strategies and address emerging issues.
Training, Coaching, and Technical Assistance
- Provide technical assistance, coaching, and ongoing support to Kentucky’s prevention educators.
- Coordinate statewide prevention training opportunities, including:
- The annual High School and Community Green Dot Institutes
- The online It’s My Space Facilitator Training
- The online New Educator Orientation and onboarding process
- Additional trainings and resources on best practices in sexual violence prevention
- Plan and host an annual in-person prevention training or meeting.
Program Implementation and Oversight
- Ensure program fidelity statewide by overseeing educator approval processes for Green Dot and It’s My Space.
- Facilitate monthly Program Implementation Committee (PIC) and Green Dot Implementation Committee (GDCITy) meetings to promote collaboration, professional development, and resource sharing.
- Maintain the PIC and GDCITy listservs and SharePoint resource libraries.
- Maintain KASAP’s prevention database, ensure timely data entry, and provide RPE data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Conduct annual monitoring of rape crisis centers (RCCs) for compliance with prevention contract requirements and prepare written monitoring reports.
Evaluation and Collaboration
- Work closely with KASAP’s Empowerment Evaluator to ensure evaluation protocols are implemented consistently across RCCs.
- Collaborate with KASAP’s web development vendor to maintain and update the virtual hotspot mapping platform.
- Build and sustain relationships with statewide partners to advance prevention goals and increase visibility of prevention initiatives.
- Develop and deliver presentations, materials, and reports to promote Kentucky’s prevention work to external audiences.

Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated commitment to ending sexual violence.
- Knowledge of sexual violence prevention, public health, and/or primary prevention frameworks.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in coaching, community organizing, or program management.
- Ability to represent the Coalition professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Capacity to work independently within a flexible structure.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (some overnights required).
Preferred
- Certification in It’s My Space (Middle School), Green Dot (High School), and/or Green Dot for Community.
- Experience in sexual violence prevention, other public health prevention initiatives, or victim services.
- Understanding of Kentucky’s rape crisis center system and statewide prevention infrastructure.
