The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Lt. Governors, is seeking a driven and highly organized Finance Assistant. The DLGA serves as the Democratic bench, supporting the most diverse group of statewide elected officials in the country, with more than 85 percent of Democratic Lt. Governors being women or people of color.
The Finance Assistant will play an integral role in supporting the fundraising team through administrative tasks, fundraising research, and project management, including drafting call sheets and briefings. This position assists with the day-to-day operations of the DLGA’s fundraising programs by supporting the work of all members of the fundraising team, as well as the Executive Director. The position reports directly to the Deputy Finance Director and offers a unique opportunity to gain significant experience in all aspects of political fundraising.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation for and on-site management of DLGA fundraising events and policy conferences
- Prepare briefing materials for all members of the finance and executive teams, as needed
- Contribute to the production of all DLGA finance materials
- Manage ongoing donor research projects for both corporate membership and major donor fundraising
- Work with the full finance team to draft fundraising reports and assist with fundraising tasks as needed
- Manage the tasks related to call time preparation for Lt. Governors and candidates
- Assist with other assignments and tasks as requested by all members of the finance team and the Executive Director
- Collaborate with the Deputy Finance Director to interview, select, and manage DLGA finance interns and oversee their projects
- Other special projects, assignments, and duties as assigned by the Deputy Finance Director
Requirements
- Previous experience in electoral politics is preferred, but not required
- Background in political science or campaign finance
- Database experience (Action Network or ActBlue preferred)
- Proficiency in Google Suite programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently but collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple projects successfully and work well on multiple deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills, detail-oriented, and dependable
This is a cycle position with an end date of December 31, 2026. The salary for this position is $50,000 annually before applicable withholdings. This is a hybrid position, with three days per week in our office in Downtown Washington, DC.
