Description
Community School Collaborative (CSC) seeks a collaborative, visionary Executive Director with a deep passion for youth education.
Founded in 2018 by Park County community leaders, CSC is ready to step into its second decade with a leader who can help CSC fully integrate into the community and provide a clear path forward for the organization. CSC’s mission is to provide innovative career exploration and work-based learning opportunities that prepare youth to enter tomorrow’s workforce and build fulfilling lives. The organization is small but impactful with two full-time staff members, an engaged and dedicated Board of Directors, and committed partners throughout Park County.
The successful candidate will prioritize collaboration and balance opportunities for growth with a steady, grounded approach. As the primary staff fundraiser for the organization, they will have experience with grants and working with individual donors to achieve an organization’s mission. They will have nonprofit experience and experience working with youth. Most of all, they will have a willingness to learn about all aspects of CSC, while empowering the staff and community partners that help CSC move its vision forward.
Requirements
Fundraising & Development
- Lead creation and execution of a growth-focused and ambitious annual fundraising plan, with goals including 10% donor retention and 200% ROI on fundraising efforts.
- Secure and manage public and private funding to meet or exceed annual budget goals.
- Manage all grant applications, from foundation identification, to writing, to fulfilling reporting requirements.
- Write, submit, and report on grants.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Oversee fundraising campaigns, donor appreciation events, and signature annual event.
- Manage donor data, tracking, and acknowledgments.
Leadership & Financial Management
- Work with the Board to establish a process for strategic planning and decision-making that is in-line with nonprofit best practices.
- Collaborate with the Board on strategic direction and decision-making.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with the Board Treasurer and accountant.
- Oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
- Provide monthly updates to the Board.
Governance & Strategic Leadership
- Serve as primary staff liaison to the Board, attending committee meetings and providing regular updates.
- Partner with the Board and staff to implement the strategic plan and Annual Work Plan, ensuring alignment with CSC’s mission and values.
- Maintain key organizational records, archives, and digital access.
Outreach, Marketing & Partnerships
- Represent CSC publicly and build strong relationships with community partners, donors, and statewide networks.
- Lead implementation of the Annual Communications Plan, including media, newsletters, and digital platforms.
- Oversee production of the Annual Report and promote CSC’s impact at events and in the community.
Program & Evaluation
- Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure that the annual work plan initiative and goals are met and outcomes are tracked.
- Maintain all records related to programming including background checks, programming archives, data, photographs, and volunteer database.
- Support the Program Director by providing guidance and direction on key initiatives such as Cougar Career Days, Pop-up Clubs and the Job Shadow Program.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with area schools and seek out growth opportunities in Park County and beyond.
- Maintain partnerships with schools and plan for program growth in Park County and beyond.
Human Resources & Staff Oversight
- Supervise and support staff, providing feedback, coaching, and professional development.
- Lead annual goal-setting for staff and maintain a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years working in nonprofits
- A successful track record of grant management
- Experience growing a nonprofit’s impact through programs, marketing, and fundraising
- Strong understanding of nonprofit best practices
- Experience in the field of youth education or work-based learning is desirable, but not required
